Writing your officials
Everything you need to know..

We need you to take three actions
right now:

  1. Sign a petition!

  2. Write a letter!

  3. Volunteer and help spread the word!

It is crucial we keep our concerns the proposed course in the attention of friends of McLaren Park.

It is especially crucial we keep our concerns about the proposed course in the attention of Rec/Park and City Hall officials.

By circulating petitions, writing officials and volunteering you can help!

Thanks,

Save McLaren Park

Write your letter today to Save McLaren Park!

Save McLaren Park and our allies have been working hard to stop a disc golf course slated for construction in McLaren Park.  These efforts recently paid off when the Rec/Park Commission admitted that proper procedure hadn’t been followed and called for a public hearing.

So, NOW is the time to write your letter to city officials!  A signed letter sent through the U.S. Mail is most impressive to officials, but email or fax is good.

Send copies of your letter to:  1) Supervisor John Avalos, 2) your supervisor, 3) Phil Ginsburg, 4) Rec/Park Commission, and 5) info@savemclarenpark.org. All official addresses are below.

Include the following in your comments:

  • Your thoughts about the 2005 Rec/Park Commission approving the construction of an 18-hole disc golf course in the heart of McLaren Park without properly notifying neighbors and stakeholders.
  • How you enjoy McLaren Park as it is now.
  • Your concerns about how existing park activities will be affected by disc golf.
  • Concerns about environmental damage caused by a disc golf course.

Please also mention these three demands. Request that officials:

  • Declare an immediate moratorium on any legal agreement with the S.F. Disc Golf Club for the construction of a course in McLaren Park.
  • Conduct a full public notification and input process.
  • Commit to a full study of the environmental impact of a disc golf course.

For more info, petitions, maps, photos, and to get on our mailing list, eMail us at info@savemclarenpark.org.

Your letters are read and make an impact!
Thanks,
